Americold continues to strengthen its footprint in the APAC region, expanding capabilities to serve a diverse range of industries—including retail, meat and poultry, seafood, dairy, quick-service restaurants, frozen foods, and convenience sectors. Over the past five years, we have invested heavily in expanded site certifications, value-added services, increasing specific skillsets, upgraded facilities, and advanced material handling equipment (MHE) to drive safety of our staff and efficiency, sustainability, optimisation and satisfaction for our customers.
Now, we're taking another leap forward. Across 12 sites in Australia, Americold is rolling out a new fleet of cold-ready MHE to further accelerate productivity and scalability. This transformation, spanning from 2025 to 2027, began in Tasmania and has since extended to Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria—each site location receiving purpose-selected equipment tailored to its operational needs.
Jonathan Bolton, VP Supply Chain Solutions APAC, shared insights on the rollout’s timing and complexity: "We started the rollout in Western Australia just before Christmas, which is when we see our highest volumes. In WA, and across all states, we service major retail and quick-service restaurant customers, so it’s a peak period. With the scale and complexity of this upgrade deployment, especially during the holiday rush—our team and supplier collaboration ensured a smooth transition at each location."
Doug Seccombe, Managing Director APAC, praised the dedication of Americold’s workforce: "A special thanks goes to the site teams for their adaptability and positivity during this pivotal transition for us at Americold APAC”. Doug elaborated on Americold’s vision, saying “We are just getting started! With two more facilities currently in expansion, our investment in technology and our extensive growth in capabilities, we are leaving no stone unturned while solidifying our vision: To be the global provider of choice by delivering the highest quality customer experience through our people, infrastructure, and innovation.”
Additionally, we’re excited to share that our Americold Arndell Park, NSW facility launch was featured in the May Edition of MHD Supply Chain News magazine—showcasing our progress and our industry-leading solutions.
