Observing R U OK? Day

Checking on our Mates with R U OK Day @AmericoldAPAC

At Americold APAC, R U OK? Day has become a regular observance at our Americold hoods over the past 5 years, and even this year, our teams took time out to stop and check on each other!

Across all our 20+ locations in APAC, Team huddles happened on 12th September, specially making the time to observe R U OK? Day.

R U OK? is a national suicide prevention charity and registered public health promotion that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times.

R U OK? Day is celebrated serving as a reminder to check in on loved ones and start conversations about mental health. The theme for this year is "Ask R U OK? Any Day," emphasizing the importance of asking if someone is okay every day, not just on this specific day. It is a National Day of Action in Australia aimed at encouraging people to connect and support each other through life's ups and downs.

Each team got together to check on each other, sharing a bit of time to discuss a cause that truly matters – mental health and meaningful conversations.

Team leaders shared the importance of ‘checking on a mate’ encouraging their teams to ‘Check on a Mate’ not just on this occasion but about making it an everyday habit.

Some teams went the extra mile preparing R U OK? Day Cupcakes, while some had coffee vans roll in!  All of this great conversation over a cuppa 🍵and cupcakes.
