An interview isn't just a chance for Americold to get to know you. It's your chance to get to know us, too!
What will your day actually look like? Who will you work with?
The right questions can help you get beyond the job description and get a better feel for the people, work, and opportunities behind the role.
Whether you're interviewing for a warehouse, maintenance, transportation, supply chain, technology, engineering, or corporate position, come prepared to be curious. You might be surprised by what you learn.
You don't need to ask every question below. Choose three to five that are most relevant to the role and, just as importantly, what you want to know.
| Question to ask: | Why ask it? |
| How does this role contribute to Americold's mission? | See how your day-to-day work connects to something bigger (helping our customers feed the world). |
| What does success look like in the first 90 days? | Find out what your manager will expect from you early on and how you can get off to a strong start. |
| What qualities do successful associates in this role have? | Get a sense of the skills, behaviors, and mindset that help people thrive on the team. |
| What are the team's biggest priorities or challenges right now? | Learn what's happening behind the scenes and where you could make an immediate contribution. |
| What opportunities exist for career growth and development? | Learn what's happening behind the scenes and where you could make an immediate contribution. |
| What do you enjoy most about working at Americold? | Sometimes the best way to understand a workplace is to hear what the people who work here actually enjoy about it. |
If a hiring manager tells you their team is focused on improving efficiency, for example, that's your opportunity to talk about a time you improved a process or solved a similar problem.
Listen for something that sparks your curiosity and ask a follow-up. That's when you learn the most.

Prepare at least three questions. You can ask more if time allows - focus on questions that help you understand the opportunity rather than asking questions simply to fill time.
Absolutely. Asking about training, development, and potential career paths can help you understand how the role could fit into your longer-term goals.
