At Americold, we believe that innovation thrives at the intersection of infrastructure and partnership. That belief is at the heart of our growing collaboration with Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), recently featured in Progressive Railroading’s July 2025 issue.
As the only single-line rail network connecting Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, CPKC is a natural partner in our mission to deliver smarter, faster, and more sustainable cold chain solutions across North America.
Why This Matters
The demand for temperature-controlled logistics is growing—especially across borders. From fresh produce to frozen proteins, shippers need reliable, efficient ways to move goods across long distances without compromising quality or safety.
That’s where our partnership with CPKC comes in.
Together, we’re reimagining what’s possible in cold chain logistics—starting with a 335,000-square-foot import-export hub in Kansas City, designed to streamline cross-border trade and reduce transit times for temperature-sensitive goods.
A Strategic Step Forward
In the article, our President Rob Chambers shared how this collaboration is more than just infrastructure—it’s about unlocking value for our customers:
“We’re attacking inefficiencies in the supply chain by co-locating cold storage with rail access. It’s a smarter way to move food.”
This is just the beginning. With plans to expand our footprint in Mexico and Canada, we’re building a cold chain network that’s faster, more resilient, and more connected than ever before.
What’s Next?
As we continue to invest in rail-integrated cold storage, we’re excited about the opportunities this creates for our customers—whether you're a food producer, retailer, or logistics provider.
Stay tuned for more updates as we bring these projects to life. And if you're ready to explore how Americold and CPKC can help optimize your supply chain, we’d love to talk.
